Borgo Torre Bianchello del Metauro Superiore

 12.50

This ancient vine, Bianchello, also called Biancame, is grown exclusively on the hills of the Metauro river. Mythological wine because Tacitus, philosopher and writer of imperial Rome, mentions it as responsible for the defeat of Hasdrubal by the Roman legions in the battle in 207 BC, fought right near this river. Bianchello has represented for my family of winemakers and still represents for me, a third generation winemaker, the symbolic vine to which a lifetime of work has been dedicated.

The work carried out has led to identifying territories on which to plant vineyards with different characteristics from each other, capable of giving grapes and wines with a strong personality and to experiment with advanced winemaking techniques in winemaking with the production of wine in reduction and cryomaceration.

This wine was born from passion, research and technology:

BORGO TOWER 2022

Bianchello del Metauro Doc

Vineyard located on a hill 35 km from the sea and at an altitude of 250 metres. The Apennine mountain range creates a particular climate with copious winter snowfalls and dry summers, mild autumns and rainy springs. The warm south-west wind (garbino), which warms up as it descends from the mountain, creates a dry climate. The bora and tramontana winds from the north are less felt while the mistral makes its presence known. In summer the temperature difference between day and night is strong.

Sensory Analysis:

Straw yellow and crystalline, lively to the eye with an excellent glycerine consistency. Elegant nose with floral impact of acacia, hawthorn, lily, jasmine and yellow rose. The olfactory spectrum is completed by fruity notes of apple, peach, kiwi, white plum, medlar and hints of aromatic herbs and minerals.

On the palate, splendid sapidity and balance between freshness and alcohol, it expresses body and a long finish with intense aromatic persistence on sweet almond tones.
